What’s in our CSA box this week?
…kolhrabi!

What’s that? Buzzfeed answered that question in an article entitled “31 Things To Do With Confusing CSA Vegetables” that we think is pretty funny and also quite useful… here’s the rundown:

Kolhrabi is a vegetable in the brassica genus. It’s related to cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, kale, brussels sprouts, turnips, and other brassicas. Kohlrabi isn’t actually a root, even though it looks like one. Instead, it’s an enlarged stem! Kolhrabi can be eaten raw or cooked, and we think that it tastes best when it’s fresh. Check out the Buzzfeed link for some recipe ideas!

In addition to kolhrabi, this week’s tentative pick includes:IMG_6821

  • swiss chard
  • basil
  • thyme
  • tomatoes
  • cucumber
  • loose leaf lettuce
