Hi! My name is Jade Menow, and I am an AmeriCorps member working with the Sustainable Food Systems Program for the 2021 program year. I was born in California, but quickly moved to the Philadelphia metropolitan area when I was very young.  As a kid I was not exposed to the agriculture world, but I enjoyed outside activities. When I have some downtime, I am most likely crafting, painting, watching funny YouTube videos, or spending time with my dog, Cody.

My college experience has introduced me to the amazing community of agriculture education! I graduated from Penn State in December 2020, and I was in the position of Executive Director for the Student Farm Club, as well as being an intern on the farm, so this AmeriCorps position hits close to home. My Bachelor’s Degree is in AgriBusiness Management, with a specialization in Sustainability Leadership and I hope to use that education to change the way people appreciate their food.

Graduating into a pandemic, has not been easy, but I am so thankful to be able to call AmeriCorps my next step into my career. This service is very important to me, and I am very excited to continue my work in the Sustainable Food Systems Program for Penn State. I really want to make a difference for the Student Farm, because it is a great outlet for students to learn so much.
