The Student Farm is happy to announce that we are offering a Thanksgiving Harvest Campus Supported Agriculture (CSA) share! Our CSA program is for Penn State faculty, staff and students who want to support the Student Farm’s educational programs and sustainable practices while enjoying fresh produce.
CSAs allow farmers to grow produce that has a minimal impact on the environment, is healthy and fresh for the consumer, and provides the capital necessary for farmers/growers to produce the highest quality product possible. Our CSA follows strict food safety protocols that other commercial CSAs follow. This means that all hands and tools are washed before touching produce, distribution of produce will be done in clean, food-safe containers, crops will be refrigerated until pickup, fields will be checked regularly for pests and disease, and more. If you have any questions about our food production or CSA program, email Vancie Peacock, CSA student manager, at: studentfarm@psu.edu.
To sign up for the Thanksgiving Harvest CSA share, please click the button below. There is limited space, so be sure to sign up soon! NEW for this season, we are also accepting monetary donations that will be used to donate shares to students experiencing food insecurity, in partnership with the Lion’s Pantry.
