Blue-White Weekend is a great opportunity for us show our hard work to Penn State alumni and community members. So, while you’re in town for the Blue-White game, be sure to stop by Headhouse 2, located across Curtin Road from the Berkey Creamery, where we’ll be giving tours of our working greenhouse and hosting other family-friendly events. Come out to Local Foods Night at Redifer Commons and enjoy a meal sourced from local farms, including some of our fresh produce grown right here on campus! Sharing our crops with the community is one of our favorite ways to connect people with local agriculture. “Just Eat It” Film Screening and Panel Discussion on Food Waste | April 18  |  7:00pm – 9:00pm  |  102 Thomas

We’re hosting a screening and panel discussion of the film “Just Eat It” along with the Community Nutrition and Food Security Club and Eco-Action. “Just Eat It” documents food waste from the farm, through retail, all the way to people’s refrigerators. We’ll be joined by panelists Emily Newman, Penn State student and founder of the Green2Go program, Dr. Judd Michael, Professor of Sustainable Business, and Lisa Wandel, Director of Penn State Food Services. Click the event title above for more information.

Campus and Community Sustainability Expo | April 25  |  5:00pm – 7:00pm  |  State College Borough Building (corner of Allen and Foster, next to Schlow Library)

Join us at the Campus and Community Sustainability Expo, where we’ll be featured for our work in engaging the local community with its food system. The Expo highlights many different sustainability-focused projects and initiatives on-campus and in the community, so be sure to drop by and learn about the Sustainable Food Systems Program and many other projects! Student Farm Plant Sale  |  April 29  |  10:00am – 3:00pm  |  Headhouse 2

Our plants are going up for sale to the community! Come by Headhouse 2, located across Curtin Road from the Berkey Creamery, to purchase locally raised vegetables and herbs. All proceeds from the sale will go directly toward supporting our efforts to bolster sustainable agriculture and connect the community to its food system. Cash only, and please bring your own bag. Come early as many things sell out quickly!
