We’re excited to announce a collaborative cyanotype workshop September 5th and 6th from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the HUB Pollock Plaza (across from Osmond). As part of our ongoing efforts to explore the intersection of art and sustainability, we’ve partnered with Art Alley to host a unique sun printing activity inspired by their current exhibition, Expansive Habitat, the Rhizome of Home by Vee Adams and andrea narno. This event is perfect for anyone interested in art, plants, and the environment—a fun wellness activity where you can contemplate thought-provoking art while creating your own.

About the Exhibition: Running through September 24, Expansive Habitat, the Rhizome of Home delves into the artists’ deep connections with plants and how these connections shape their sense of home. Through cyanotype quilts and soft sculptures, artists Vee Adams and andrea narno explore what home means through their connections with plants. Together, they re-envision and redefine what it means to have a connection to place, what it means to root. Weaving together photographs they’ve taken of their home habitats, of plants cultivated, collected, and cherished, they investigate and envision diverse home landscapes. Threading these images full of memories has allowed the artists to create a new sense of place, to hold the feeling of belonging and trace endless possibilities, while strengthening their relationship to one another.
