The Student Farm is excited to announce a new Sunday brunch series, where you’ll learn to create simple yet elegant dishes that showcase the best of our fresh, local and seasonal produce on the farm. The last brunch in the series is on Sunday, October 27th from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Student Farm!
Each brunch kicks off with a live cooking demo led by a student intern and our Food Systems Coordinator. We’ll guide you through delicious recipes that are easy to recreate at home. The first brunch date featured shakshuka two ways—a traditional version with eggs and a vegan green shakshuka with beans—paired with a refreshing kale side salad. To top it off, we mixed up cucumber jalapeño mocktails for a fresh, zesty finish. The menu for the October 6th brunch featured tofu scramble burritos with salsa and sweet potato breakfast hash, plus floral mocktails using nasturtium, marigold, and lavender!
We also offer Sunday morning volunteer hours on the Student Farm, between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Start your day by lending a hand on the farm, then reward yourself with a delicious meal at our brunch series! Sunday volunteering is open every Sunday, not just during brunch Sundays.
The Student Farm is located on Penn State’s northern campus at the intersection of Big Hollow Road and Fox Hollow Road, near OPP Renovation Services Building (also known as the old Armory).
If driving to the farm, use Fox Hollow Road. If you are driving from campus or Downtown State College, Big Hollow Road is a quick left just before the underpass for 322.
If biking or walking to the farm from the Penn State campus, please use Big Hollow Road to safely travel to the farm. There is a bike rack, as well as a Lyft bike docking station, located by the front gate of the farm. We highly encourage biking, walking and using public transportation to reach the farm, as these are the most sustainable transportation options.
