The Student Farm is excited to be teaming up with HM 485’s Meeting and Event Management course to present a Virtual Harvest Festival! The event will take place Wednesday, November 4 from 6-8pm. The event will feature workshops and live cooking demonstrations that showcase environmentally-friendly practices and the Student Farm’s commitment to sustainability.
Penn State’s Executive Chef Mark Kowalksi will be hosting the virtual cooking session and will teach participants two fresh, fall-themed recipes for all to engage in and enjoy. There will also be a virtual farm tour that will provide an inside look at the farm, its expansion plans, and the resources it offers to the community. In addition, the Harvest Festival will include an at-home scavenger hunt where attendees will find old items and repurpose them for new uses. Lastly, there will be a trivia session with prizes for the winners! Student Farm swag prizes will be mailed to winners after the event.
These fun, engaging events will teach participants how to reduce their carbon footprint, adopt effective sustainable practices, and explore new ways to live an eco-friendly lifestyle! Registration for the event is at www.eventbrite.com/e/virtual-harvest-festival-tickets-123211995395.
An early bird special of $3 per ticket will be available until November 1. After that, the regular admission price will be $5. Monetary donations will be reduced from donors’ ticket purchases and are greatly appreciated. Such donations will benefit the Student Farm and their partner, The Lion’s Pantry.
We hope to see you in our interactive event to celebrate the autumn season and learn about sustainability and healthy eating with the Student Farm and beyond!
