Student Farm Club is excited to host an open meeting called “Weed It or Eat It: The Art of Planting and Foraging “ on February 4 from 6-7 pm! All students, faculty, and community members are invited to attend this valuable discussion about identifying and using edible and medicinal plants.
The event will feature Dr. Eric Burkhart, a Penn State professor and program director of Appalachian Botany and Ethnobotany at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center. Burkhart will share his knowledge and tips about using plants for culinary and medicinal purposes. Student Farm Club members will provide discussion questions and facilitate fun, thought-provoking conversations with guests!
Meg Mitchell is organizing the event in her role as Student Farm Club Programming Director. Meg has been working with the farm for three ears, and she is looking forward to opening this event to the community.
“Although our events this semester must be held remotely,” Meg said, “we are excited to take advantage of this opportunity to make all our events more accessible to students, community, and staff in ways we wouldn’t be able to before.”
The Weed It or Eat It event will be held via Zoom, and you can register for it through the button below. We hope to see you soon at this exciting meeting!
