SDG: 15 – Life on Land
The motivation for this experiment was to mitigate or prevent the incidence of disease on tomato plants, and assess nutritional benefits of applying comfrey compost tea to kale plants. After a full season of conducting a literature review and managing his on-farm research, John created a compost tea preparation and application protocol for interns to follow and for further research to be conducted. Compost tea sprays have continued to be used on the Student Farm for disease suppression in tomatoes.
